We're building a HOUSE!!

You may know or not know that we are building a house!! This week we will be getting started on our interior decorating meetings and hopefully they will be breaking ground by early september!! Closing is set for February 10th!! We are very excited! It is 3100sqft, 4 bdrm, 3.5 bth. It's loaded with upgrades and will have 2 wood-burning fireplaces including one outside on the veranda!! It's our dream house. Here we are with our lot!

Avery had cheer camp this weekend and she had a great time. She said it was "pretty fun".

We took Cade to a classic car show. He got to sit in the drivers seat of a classic fire engine. All was great until the nice man went to put the lights on and Cade thought he was putting the siren on. Along with the fact that he was overly tired it turned into an ugly scene real quick.

Lastly, friday night Dennis and Becky welcomed Andrew Griffin into the world!!!! Our first nephew! He's a cutie! Be sure to check him out in "sarah's blog" under our links.

Getting settled in

Sorry for the lack of updates, our digicam's battery died and the charger was deeply packed.

So, Saturday Avery turned 5 years old!! YAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVERY!! It was a rainy day. We went to IHOP, Avery opened her presents, and we went to Marble Slab for some ice cream. Avery had the birthday cake flavor with cake and sprinkles mixed and man it was good! Cade had his new favorite, black raspberry.

School is going well for Avery. Tomorrow evening she starts her art class that we signed her up for so she is really excited about that.

Cade is doing fine. Him and I go for a motorcycle ride around the lake on his big wheel every morning before 8:30 when it starts getting too hot to be outside.

The boxes have all been gone through but the apartment is a disaster! I have about 3 times the amount of cooking accessories and food then I have kitchen space so things are laying everywhere.

The pictures are from tonight. We went to Garden Cove which is the only natural market around....it certainly isn't Whole Foods but it has a good amount of stuff we eat. They have a vegan icecream stand inside and the kids love their icecream. Avery took the picture of Dave, Cade and I (pretty good eh?)

These pictures are of the Saturn 5 rocket that I talked about in an earlier post.

This weekend Avery has Cheer camp at the high school so she is super excited for that! Maybe I'll have some fun pictures from that.

Elementary school HERE SHE COMES!

Today was Avery's first day of kindergarten. All went well except for leaving her lunchbox at school and getting off at the wrong bus stop, still in our complex, but not the right stop. Only scared me for a brief minute until I saw her walking down the sidewalk towards our apartment. She had a lot of fun though, made a new friend named Holly, had gym class...even took a nap at rest time!!!!!!! She was full of stories while she was having her after-school snack. I think Cade had a rough day without her though. He was quite confused when she got on that bus without us, the doors closed and away she went. He stood there looking at us like, "did you know Avery was on there?" Then he made a sad puppydog face and said, "I miss Avery." He was out of sorts the whole day. So that was the day in a nutshell, if Avery didn't think she was hot stuff before she sure does now!

Greetings from Madison, A L A B A M A !

Welcome to our apartment! The bottom half of the unit belongs to us and it is pretty nice. We've been spending the weekends driving around to find out where everything is, looking at different neighborhoods and finding fun things for the kids to see and do. We've been to the pool just about every day and the water is really nice. Avery and Cade have their floaties and have become more accustomed to being in the water. Swim lessons will be starting in October. The kids are still amazed by the big rockets that are on display infront of the U.S Space and Rocket Center. You can see them from most places around the city. The mountain range is also a new sight for us. They sure are purdy... hehe. Dave's commute is all of about 5 minutes and it's nice to be able to have breakfast with him every morning, sometimes lunch too! Our moving truck has still not arrived and we are cursing the air matresses every night. More pics of the inside of our place will be up shortly.
